To say that the fight for supremacy in the AL east is heating up is the understatement of the week. With the Yankees 3 game sweep of the Blue Jays only 4.5 games separate 1st and 4th. What this means is that we could have a race unlike any we have ever seen before. Not since 1993 have 3 teams been this close this late into September and with the Yankees back in the mix we’re in for a wild ride leading into October. With most of the teams final games coming against each other the AL east is really anyone of the 4 teams for the taking. The much anticipated upcoming series between Toronto and Boston should be just a taste of things to come for the remainder of the season. As of right now it looks as though no matter what happens the AL east will be well represented in the fall classic with both Toronto and Baltimore holding wild card spots at present time and New York creeping just 2.5 back. There are however a few teams posing threats to swoop in with Detroit and Houston getting hot. The AL East has been widely known as the toughest division in baseball and this year we’re seeing why it is probably the toughest division in sports. With less than a month to go in the regular season it truly will be a fight to the finish. Buckle your seat belts folks. We’re in for a wild ride.
